  • Jake was once a self-professed “fat kid” whose mom made him eat whole pizzas at a time when he was sad. As an adult, Jake has instead turned to fitness to deal with his emotions and works hard to encourage others to do the same.

  • Jake’s teaching style mirrors his personality; crazy, intense and hilarious. His energy is infectious and the workouts never boring. With Jake, you’ll be working and laughing your butt off—literally!

  • Jon thrives on pushing campers to overcome obstacles and their personal limitations

  • Jon runs no non-sense workouts that are as fun as they are demanding
  • He believes inspiration comes from many sources and that Genesis helps campers realize their true potential

  • Won first place in the 2007 Women’s Division Double Ironman in Virginia
  • Placed 3rd in the 2008 Lean Horse 100 – a 100 mile race
  • Lori is training for the Dec-Ironman 2009, which is a series of 10 Ironman competitions in 10 days!

  • Lynn has been passionate about fitness and nutrition for most of her life, and she learned from a young age that how you fuel your body can have a dramatic impact your performance

  • He has a passion for mountaineering, and has been rock and ice climbing throughout the French and Swiss Alps, the United States, and Australia
  • Trained Royal Marine Commandos, and has also worked with international mountain climbers preparing to climb Mt. Everest
  • Completed the 2007 Marathon Des Sables, an ultra marathon classified the “toughest footrace in the world”

  • Rhodri is very friendly, but his workouts certainly are not. You will be pushed to the limit both physically and mentally by his extremely demanding programs.

  • Rick

    Certifications/Degree:
  • Colorado Certified Paramedic
  • MBA from Regis University
  • Will complete a registered nursing degree in early 2010

  • Experience/Background:
  • Started as a camper with Genesis and was so enthusiastic and committed we promoted him to instructo
  • For the past four years he has completed the California AIDS Lifecycle Ride, a 585 mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles
  • He is a marathoner and competed in the Phoenix Marathon in January and the Colfax Marathon in May. Next on the marathon trail is Disney World January 2010. "I know I can kick Micky’s ass, have you seen his shoes?"

  • Rick loves to kill your ABS - Disco ABS gets great reviews!
  • Knowledge of both nutrition and metabolism

  • Motivation:
    Three years ago Rick found himself at a place of zero motivation for fitness. He had spent 5 years getting in shape and then lost the desire to work out. He knew something would have to change or he would be back to a size 38 waist within a year or two.

    He Googled “Fat Camps in Denver” and Genesis came up. He didn’t know what to expect but signed up for a 5 week session at Capitol Hill. Looking back at life’s decisions he really thinks signing up was easily in his top 10 best decisions. The group environment made him strive harder and being pushed beyond his maximum threshold became easier knowing others were struggling beside him.

    The first camp ended and he kept signing up. Rick saw the change in his body starting to occur within 10 weeks. He felt strong and nothing made him feel alive like running the steps of the capital. Rick wants to help you reach that feeling of “Alive” that he found.

    Specializations/Philosophy:
  • Anybody can get fit if they are willing to put in the time and effort. Fitness is a lifestyle that requires balanced nutrition and at least 5 hours of exercise every week.

  • Owned a lemonade stand for almost 3 hours

  • Expertise:
  • Workouts emphasizing balance, agility and core strength
  • Metabolic and Nutritional knowledge
  • Amazingly adept at chewing gum and tap dancing at the same time

  • Motivation:
  • “The first boot camp I took with Genesis changed my life in a way I never thought possible. Though I'd always been "health conscious" and regularly worked out, it wasn't until completing my first camp that I began to see and feel the changes in my body I'd always wanted. After more than a year of consecutive boot camps, more and more pieces have fallen into place. Each little epiphany making a positive change in my health and life overall. My motivation is sharing my knowledge and experience and getting people to the point where I am: Discovering that achieving optimal health is no mystery. All it involves hard work and the will.”

  • Troy

    Certifications/Degree:
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering from University of Colorado Denver (in progress)
  • Attended the United States Air Force Academy 2005-2007

  • Experience/Background:
  • He is currently training for a sprint triathlon in September and next year will train for the Olympic distance
  • Troy is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys climbing mountains, mountain biking, rock climbing, or cliff jumping
  • He has summitted almost half of Colorado's 54 Fourteeners (mountains above 14,000 feet in elevation)

  • Expertise:
  • Troy is very friendly, talkative, and sarcastic at times, but when it comes to exercises and doing them right, he will ensure you are motivated and will use military methods to ensure you work hard and can feel your heart beating in your head!
  • Though not a "meat head", Troy loves to kill your chest and abs, and most of his workouts incorporate classic military exercises

  • Motivation:
  • From a skinny six-foot-tall high schooler to a tri-athlete, Troy believes that if you truly push yourself past your comfort zone, you can achieve a lot more than you think you can, and the results are rewarding. He did it, and is certain that you can too.
